Go through the mysterious jungles of Thailand by bike, by raft, by songtaew, by foot, and even by elephant to fully experience the beauty of the environment. This vacation will allow you to watch the sunset in one of the most sacred temple in the world, zipline through the jungle, meet and cook with the locals in a village seemingly frozen in time, and listen to the rare chanting of Buddhist monks at a remote temple, all in only 4 days. Day 1: Arrival - Chiang Mai      (-/-/-)         

After your arrival at Chiang Mai Airport, you will be greeted by your own personal guide, who will help you transfer to your hotel for check-in. 

In the afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel for a trishaw ride around the city. On this ride, you will pass the famous city wall, go along Ratchadamnoen Road and Wat Phra Singh, and visit market to experience local lifestyle. 

After you are finished with your ride, you will then drive up the mountain by “songtaew” to the Chang Khien Coffee Research Project where you can enjoy a cup of the delicious local ‘arabica’ coffee. After this, you will continue to the white Hmong village of Chang Khien where the 800 inhabitants still wear their traditional hill tribe garments that date back over 500 years. 

Here, you will visit the Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the most sacred temple in Northern Thailand. Your experienced guide will explain the history of the temple and lead you around its impressive chedi and beautiful murals.

In the late afternoon, when the crowds have left, you will be able to experience the temple as it was meant to be experienced, in a peaceful and harmonius atmosphere. After you receive your private blessing ceremony at the temple, witness the magic and serenity of chanting by buddhist monks. 

Your day will end with the spectacularly romantic evening views over Chiang Mai, with its countless glittering lights. 

Overnight in Chiang Mai. 

Day 2: Chiang Mai – Mae Taeng – Chiang Mai (B/L/-)

In the morning, you will be driven to a Lisu  minority village where you will pick up your mountain bike and cycle for an hour or so along the peaceful country roads that hug the Mae Taeng River. Once you arrive at your destination, you will climb upon an elephant and ride along narrow jungle paths with stunning views of mountains and the river below on your way to the rafting camp. Here, you will have a picnic lunch before boarding a rubber raft, and paddle downstream through the unpredictable waters of the river. Take a break from all of the excitement for a tour through an exotic Akha hill tribe village, where you will be able to have tea with a local family. After this, you will be able to cycle back to the Lisu village (45 mins) before returning to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Chiang Mai – Mae Kampong   (B/L/D)

In the morning, you will depart by minivan for Mae Kampong village in Mae On district, driving through the picturesque countryside of Chiang Mai. En route, you will have the opportunity to a stop at a local market to select ingredients for your dinner. After your brief stop, you will continue to Mae Kampong village, where you will be greeted by the villagers. Once at the village, you can take a stroll through the community forest, passing tea and coffee fields to a refreshing waterfall where a picnic lunch will be served. Return to the village in the afternoon to relax with a traditional Thai massage, and join your host family to prepare the dinner.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Flight of the Gibbon 
(Not suitable for children under 7 years old / 120 cms): 
Observe jungle life from a unique perspective, once reserved for a selected group of scientists and primates, on an exhilarating set of zip lines and sky bridges via the “Flight of the Gibbon” experience.

Overnight in Mae Kampong.

Day 4: Mae Kampong – Chiang Mai – Departure   (B/-/-)

In the morning, a hot breakfast will be served by your friendly hosts. Once you are finished with your meal, you can take a walk around the village. After a last cup of local coffee, you will head back towards Chiang Mai, stopping on the way at Sankampaeng Hot Springs, a popular recreation area for locals, and then taking a transport to Chiang Mai airport for your flight.
