Day 1 – Ho Chi Minh City – Arrival                                      
Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, your guide and private car will meet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. You will have the remainder of the afternoon and evening free at leisure. 

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, D)                                                              
Start your day with an 1.5 hour drive to Cu Chi, where you will be able to explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network constructed by North Vietnamese Army, or Viet Cong, during both the French and American wars. You’ll have a chance to crawl through the tunnels, learn about life for the  soldiers and their families, and hike through the jungle just as they did.

After visiting the tunnels, you will visit the Wildlife at Risk centre, where rescued wild animals are rehabilitated. Here, you will be taken on a guided tour through the centre where you will be able to see educational displays and information about the country's biodiversity. You will also get to see some the animals themselves. After you have explored the centre, you will be able to enjoy lunch in the Cu Chi area. 

After lunch, you will return to Ho Chi Minh City for a special tour of Cholon, the city’s Chinatown district. You’ll travel by “xe lam”, (local trucks with long benches in the back) which are perfect for zipping around the city. During the tour, you will get a close look at the markets and shops of the area, and also the Cantonese Thien Hau Pagoda - dedicated to the goddess of the Sea. Here, children can light incense coils and make a wish. 

At the end of the day, you will be able to watch a traditional music show in a private home. After the performance, you can return to your hotel to relax. 

In the evening, you will have dinner at a popular BBQ restaurant for a ‘grill your own meal’. The whole family will join in, preparing their own food in the lively atmosphere. 

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3 – Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be - Overnight Cruise (B, L, D)
This morning, you will depart from Ho Chi Minh for a 2.5-hour drive to the delta town of Cai Be. 

Arrive in Cai Be at noon, then board the nautical “Bassac.” On board, you will be welcomed with a drink and an introduction to the ship and crew. Shortly after this, you will depart towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang River and enjoy lunch on the upper deck. While on route, you can rest on the deck as the ship diverts into the Cho Lach Canal through the countless sand and rice barges. 

On this journey, you will have the chance to stop on village on the banks of river Mang Thít, where you can experience first hand the way of life on the Delta. You may also visit the orchard and rice fields nearby. 

Back on board, dinner will be served whilst the Bassac cruises on the Mang Thit River. Towards the end of the evening, the Bassac will set anchor for the night, downstream from the little market of Tra On.

Day 4: Cai Rang - Can Tho (B, L, D)

In the morning, you will be served a delicious breakfast whilst the boat cruises to the Tra On floating market. Once you have taken in the vibrant spectacle, the boat will then depart toward Can Tho. Upon arrival, you will transfer onto a local boat to visit the Cai Rang floating market the nearby arroyos and gardens.

Return to land and have lunch in Can Tho. 

Later in the day, spend time cycling around the quiet laneways and dirt paths of Can Tho. Biking is the perfect way to discover the countryside with your family. The roads are flat and the sites are spectacular. On this ride you will see: cottage industries, small farms harvesting or planting rice, hidden temples and lots of friendly locals who will come out to greet you. 

After this, you will transfer to a guest house in Can Tho. This quant, comfortable guest house is the perfect place to stay after a long day.

Day 5: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (B) 
After your breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to your host family and resume the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of today is at your leisure. 

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City. 

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City - Dalat  (B, L)       
Early this morning, you will transfer to the airport for a short flight to Dalat. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel for check-in and a short rest. 

After your rest, you’ll be picked up and transferred to the hills of Dalat for a fun afternoon of canyoning. Under the instruction of an expert guide, you will navigate through a canyon and explore numerous magnificent waterfalls. The activity is easy and safe for families. Lunch will be served at the base of a waterfall.  

Return to the hotel late this afternoon. Dinner and the rest of this evening are at your leisure. 

Overnight in Dalat 

Day 7: Dalat – Nha Trang (B, L)       
Today, your family will have a unique opportunity to travel between Dalat and Nha Trang by bike and raft. 

The journey starts with a short transfer to the highlands of Bidoup Nui Ba national park. From here, you will hop on your bike for a downhill ride through the beautiful scenery. A short uphill climb will take you to the top of a pass. Spend time experiencing the stunning views before you take a long downhill descent of 28 kilometers to the bottom of the pass and the Cai River. 

Here you can trade in your bike for a raft. The gently flowing waters of the mountain tributaries take you downriver for about 30 minutes. Here, you’ll go ashore at a small farm for a barbeque lunch. 

After lunch, you will continue to pass through the beautiful scenery. Having covered around 10 kilometers in total, you’ll reach the take-out point mid-afternoon and transfer the final 40 minutes by car to your Nha Trang hotel. 

Overnight in Nha Trang 

Day 8:  Nha Trang (B)       
Today is free to enjoy the beaches of Nha Trang. Several optional (extra) excursions can be arranged such as boat trips, village excursions or cyclo rides.

Day 9: Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City - Departure    (B)       
This morning fly from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City to catch your connecting onward flight.

Day 1 ARRIVE SAIGON    

Upon arrival in Saigon, you will meet your guide, who will then assist you in your transfer to the hotel. You will have the remainder day at your leisure.

Day 2 SAIGON – FULL DAY CU CHI AND CITY TOUR (B/L/-)

At 8:00 this morning, depart from Ho Chi Minh City at for a short drive to Cu Chi district. Leaving the city behind, the scenery changes to picturesque views of rice paddies, livestock, beautiful scenery and other scenes typical to the southern Vietnamese landscape. 

Once in Cu Chi, you will begin your visit with a tour of the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during both the French and American wars. Here you can imagine what it was like to be a guerrilla complete with Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47’s on display. When you have finished your exploration of the network, you will journey back to Ho Chi Minh City for your lunch.

Once you have eaten, you will begin your half day city tour of vibrant Saigon, starting with the landmark Reunification Hall, formerly known as the Presidential Palace. Your tour also includes the red-brick Catholic cathedral of Notre-Dame, the nearby 19th century Empire-style Post Office, the ‘Hotel de Ville’ or City Hall, and the Ben Thanh Market — the central market for the city and one of its most vibrant areas.

Day 3 SAIGON – CAI BE – TRA ON (B/L/D)    

This morning, you will meet your guide at the hotel. He will then assist you with your transfer to Cai Be. Upon arrival in Cai Be, you will board the Bassac, where welcome drinks will await you.  Once aboard, you will have a short orientation and introduction of the crew. You are invited to rest and relax on deck as you eat your lunch, or enjoy the open bar as the boat cruises into Cho Canal. The 30-minute cruise will take you through sand and rice barges, fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. 

You will first stop at a village on the banks of the river Mang Thít, where you have an opportunity to appreciate way of life of local inhabitants, and visit the orchards nearby. After re-boarding the Bassac, enjoy a complimentary “welcome back” drink as you return to your lounge chair on the deck to watch the magnificence of the Vietnamese sunset. You will then be served a feast while the Bassac is cruising the Mang Thit River. In the evening the Bassac will set anchor in front of Phuoc Huu Pagoda in Tra On. 

Overnight on boat. 

Day 4 TRA ON – CAN THO – CHAU DOC (B/L/-)    

This morning, you will be served breakfast 6:30am, while the Bassac cruises through the Tra On floating market. After a visit to the market, the Bassac will set sail again towards Can Tho. Upon arrival at the Cai Rang floating market, you will check out of your cabin and transfer onto a local boat to the local canals and gardens ending at the Ninh Kieu Pier late in the morning. Here your guide will greet you and assist you with your transfer.

En route, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at Thot Not, known for its bamboo basket-making hamlet of Long Thanh. Here, you will also have the opportunity to visit a crocodile farm. After this, you will visit a beautiful Khmer temple and a series of floating houses that double as catfish farms, now a huge industry for the country. Late this afternoon, you will take a trip to Sam Mountain, an important pilgrimage site that is frequently visited by pilgrims from all over the Mekong Delta. At night, you will check in the hotel. 

Overnight in Chau Doc. 

Day 5 CHAU DOC - SAIGON (B/L/-)    

This morning you will visit the famous Tra Su forest. This sanctuary is located about 20 km from Chau Doc. Here, you will be able to see a wide variety of colorful birds and other animals. 
After lunch, you will transfer back to Saigon hotel. You will have the rest of the day to explore the city.

Day 6 SAIGON – PHAN THIET (B/-/-)    

After breakfast, you will take a private transfer to Phan Thiet resort. The rest of day is free.

Day 7 and 8 SAIGON – PHAN THIET (B/-/-)    

These two day are free at leisure.

Day 9 PHAN THIET – SAIGON - DEPARTURE (B/-/-)    

Your private car will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
